The Messiah is here!

The last Bible study session sparked my interest so I decided to try and find a video on the Jewish Passover. We had a taste of this at last year's Good Friday joint service at Wesley United Church, where the pastor illustrated some portions of the Passover meal, such as the breaking of the middle matzoh, hiding it, and getting the child to find it.
He explained how the middle matzoh was representative of the second Person of the Trinity, Who was broken, buried, wrapped in linen(Luke 23:53), then resurrected and shared with all as what they refer to in this video as the Aftkomen, or "festival procession."

The reference to the 'festival procession' is part of the Hallel Beth Moore pointed out that they most likely had been singing, crossing the Kidron Valley, as Jesus was being led to the slaughter, yet not opening His mouth.(Isaiah 53:7). The Hallel is divided into two parts, and Psalm 118 is the very last of the second part. These words also would have been included in the last hymns.

Psalm 118:20-27)
"This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter...."

After they partook of the Aftkomen, they drank from the cup of redemption. Incredible.

I'm in love with this family. I love this man's joy and I couldn't help but recognize the deep respect he has for his wife and how highly he esteems her.

"...That's mama, my wife. Without her there would be no attempt at Jewish Passover...Mama has two of the most important things to do in the Passover service. She lights all our candles, which begins the Seder, and in doing this, she provides the light for the table. Without Mama, we can't begin...

...In Genesis 3:15, there is a prophecy that says one coming forth from woman would someday crush the head of Satan. Many of our rabbis hold this to be King Mashiach who would one day come and rid the earth of this plague of sin..."

After the Seder is officially ended, He takes out his Bible and points Christ out in the details. He explains how a woman, the virgin Mary, kicked off  the Seder and gave us the light. He says the true Passover story begins with her, for she gave birth to our True Passover, the Light of the world.(John 12:35-36)

...The Light of the world... which brings us right back to the video session which referred to the Hallel. In the second half of the Hallel, it says, "The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine upon us." (Psalm 118:27) He used a woman to give us that light.

Wow. Once again some of the most magnificent works of God were done through women. How in the world was this missed by the teachers and scribes of Jesus' time?

"God has made it very clear. Years ago my eyes were opened and I began to see."
How beautiful.

This man does such an incredible job pointing Christ out in the Passover and again, "This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter."(Psa 118:20)
Let the Seder begin...
